Literature Text

There sits the girl with the things in her eyes
Monsters, destruction, and sweet butterflies
Hopscotch and daisies, surrounded by screams
Beautiful dresses now torn at the seams
Crayons and paintbrushes, villains and grins
Young, gladsome innocence, hatred and sins
Little red houses on roads left to fade
Gorgeous moonlight shining off of the blade
Blood pouring out as she cries her own name
Knowing she's forced to take each bit of blame
She could have stopped it and left it behind
All of these things in her troubled young mind
She could have saved them if she dared to try
Rather, though, she left herself there to die.
Now, others watch as she sits on the ground
Keeping their distance and letting her drown
In her own worries and things she won't tell
Waiting for her mind to kill her as well…
THIRD TIME I'M POSTING THIS. O_O
because..
i want people to really read it.

I like your enthusiasm and drive. You probably wanted to send a very personal message in this poem. I believe that a writer's work contains a piece of his soul. And I appreciate that. But the message is unclear, and the words don't run smoothly. The symbolism is good although rather mixed up and confusing. And FuckYourselfx3 is right, you shouldn't label this under free verse. The title isn't mysterious or even the least bit encouraging. If you're trying to get the feel of Orphan for example, you should have grouped the words with the same message together. Your grammar is good, though. I always appreciate a poem with correct grammar usage. But always remember that a piece made only for your own amusement is a piece that should not have been developed.
